Patrol Leader Emma has planned -   For the last Thursday of this term scouts will be venturing out to the icy area of O’Brien icehouse docklands, since it isn’t already cold enough. The ticket prices are $25.90 online and if you pay in person $28.90 for children. (Scouts working with) Parents can arrange carpooling between themselves.   Thanks Emma,   Best to rug up and remember to bring a beanie at least.   Regards, Stuart and Jason

Scouts 1st June

Hello again units of a Scout like shape, This Thursday, in what is a little deviation from the plan, we'll be visited by the Rover Recycling crew. And before you think "Dumpster diving?! Finally that's something I can get into" we'll be looking at the whole chain, including making some of our own cool things from those things that you toss out. Our plan also had a sleepover in the hall pencilled in for this Saturday night but, with a bunch of our units on camp for world jamboree and the open day of the Kew Recycling Group (no connection) on the Saturday (See Simone's email - please come along and help) we'll need to shift it - let's get together and decide when suits us all best tomorrow. We've also got some Scouting business to do, including investing our very own Olivia after she's survived (cue thunder and lightning) "Trial by Sprouthike", which we should seriously consider introducing as a standing thing! and, erm, catching up on ...

Scouts Thursday 25th May

Units of a Scoutlike Shape!   It feels a long time since I've bombarded you with confusion and chaos but anyhew, it's your lucky day.   Fresh from our Sprout-hiking glory/ordeal Maddie and Kalia are organising another opportunity to showcase 'dem mad navigational skills in a good 'ole fashioned "drop and run".   What's a "drop and run" you ask? Well its not what you do with your dirty dishes at home that's for certain...   SO:  We'll be dividing into two big patrols Heading into the city Completing fun tasks, and Seeing if we can find our way back to the hall without ending up in Geelong. What could go wrong they say? How long ya' got is the answer...   YOU WILL NEED; Your full Uniform (it's easier to identify the bodies that way) A Myki with some cash on it (lest you have to walk home) A little money for a snack/a snack to give you sustenance for the great voyage ahead. A warm jac...

Scout’s 16th March

Hello Units!   And on the subject of Units this week will be a split group with the Unit council meeting to discuss a management take over and Jason and I wrangling a cook out for those units not in the unit council.   In other news great work for those who Staddied last weekend, Emma and Jem's patrols rocked it, coming home with a Silver award apiece for all their efforts. They could have romped home further up the ladder but for a lack of buckets, and if only they got marks for "lollies consumed" they'd have been a shoe in for Co-holders. Either way, awesome work Units!!!   In upcoming news (Again)   Boroondara Challenge Rafting 2023" on Sunday 26th March. Rafting:- 8:30 - 1pm Sunday 26th March With no takers for camping that weekend but some discussion on rafters please confirm if you want to join the race - we're leaving it a bit late but I should be able to squeak  in a bo...

I trust your week have been a joy?   And talking of joy tonight we'll en-joy-ing a games night at the hall courtesy of Emma's patrol.   In the fine tradition of 4th Kew there'll be the annual Spit grudge match (let's hope it doesn't come down to a tribunal review like last year). Please bring a pack of cards to join the fun.   If high speed happy slappy card games isn't your thing then feel free to bring a board game; hey this could be a good time to introduce everyone to a new one, there's heaps of cool ones out there.   For those going to Straddy tomorrow there'll be a final chance to get your socks in one duck with some last-minute organisational games such as the old favorites "Guess what we forgot!?" and "Hide the vitally important piece of gear".   Any questions as ChatGPT, alternatively - ask Jason and I.   See you tonight, (frilly tuxedo optional)   Jason and Stuart 4th Kew Scouts
