Scouts Thursday 25th May

Units of a Scoutlike Shape!

It feels a long time since I've bombarded you with confusion and chaos but anyhew, it's your lucky day.

Fresh from our Sprout-hiking glory/ordeal Maddie and Kalia are organising another opportunity to showcase 'dem mad navigational skills in a good 'ole fashioned "drop and run".

What's a "drop and run" you ask? Well its not what you do with your dirty dishes at home that's for certain...

SO:
  1. We'll be dividing into two big patrols
  2. Heading into the city
  3. Completing fun tasks, and
  4. Seeing if we can find our way back to the hall without ending up in Geelong.
What could go wrong they say? How long ya' got is the answer...

YOU WILL NEED;
  1. Your full Uniform (it's easier to identify the bodies that way)
  2. A Myki with some cash on it (lest you have to walk home)
  3. A little money for a snack/a snack to give you sustenance for the great voyage ahead.
  4. A warm jacket (it does get chilly you know)
  5. Your street smarts.
WE WILL ALSO NEED A COUPLE OF PARENTAL TAXI DRIVERS TO ACHEIVE THE "DROP" PART OF THE "DROP AND RUN". (Apparently the traditional blindfolding of Scouts during the journey to their drop point was frowned upon after suggestions that it might look suspicious).

This taxi service will be one way only - i.e. kick 'em out in the city, drive back in blessed silence. Volunteers' greatly appreciated!

And what's this got to do with the great siege of Mafeking and what would 'ole BP have to say about it I hear you ask? Good question - I'll get back to you on that one.

As your taxi's will be awaiting with engines revving and we want to get back before the night bus service starts, please ensure you're at the hall before 7pm! The more punctual you are the more time you get to ponder the menu of your favourite "inappropriate snack" shop in the city.

Thanks

Maddie, Kalia, Jason (in absentia) and Stuart
