Scouts 27th June: Its Rollerama Time

This Thursday night all you Jammers, get that star on and whip on down to   https://maps.app.goo.gl/1UDz88UpiihTXQyS7   Caribbean Rollerama 1298 Ferntree Gully Rd, Scoresby VIC 3179   For a bout in the rink.   (Translation: we are going roller skating)   We want no C-blocks as you lace up those quads and hope to avoid the rink rash.   Session starts at 7pm and will roll on to 9pm.    It'll be $13 entry and $3 for your wheels, plus bring some pocket money as those hot laps can work up a thirst/hunger...   You can also be super organised and book online if you like too:  Sessions | Caribbean Rollerama   Oh and for those who like to be able to walk the next day I strongly recommend bringing some walking socks/ski socks or similar to cushion those rentals skates. A lid for your loaf (helmet) would be a great call too...   Finally for the curious among you who have been working on your...

Scouts tonight - May 16

Hi All Jason has been struck down and Stuart has been roped out for tonight. Will and Jacinta will be checking that all scouthikers have their gear ready for the weekend - if we don't see it tonight you can't hike. All non-scouthikers should bring a torch, an ability to spot things, and warm clothes, as Audrey will be leading them around Hayes paddock. Don't bring phones, they won't be needed. thanks, Bryn

Scouting Fun "May the 9th Be With You"

Hello Units   Message forwarded from Emil (as assisted by his padawan Sam R):   Tonight's session will be star wars themed. We will meet at the scout hall and then walk to hays paddock to commence the games   Equipment that the scouts would need are:   A headtorch A drink bottle A small bag to house said drink bottle maybe. A toy lightsaber or pool noodle for padawan slaying ( i will warn people to be careful don't worry)   I hope you enjoy this plan, and feel free to send me any suggestions.   Thanks, Emil   Its dark and chilly at nights these days so please, again, try and bring a head torch so your phone doesn't get eaten ("But it's a torch" won't cut it when you're using your Snapcat screen to light your way)   See you tonight, Units

4th Kew Scouts Term Two Plan

Unit's! Their PA's (Parental Assistants) and other learn'd individuals   Your handy dandy ole' unit council didn't just spend the first Thursday night of term eating pizza you know.   The just dang well came up with the goods (whilst shouting at each other and eating pizza)...   So attached, to fill that sad bald space left on your fridge/family noticeboard/bottom of your hamster's cage is the Term Two Scouting Plan.   Baden Powel might have something to say about it...   Anyhew... You'll note that we've a bit of the old under canvas type fun planned. Sprout hike is locked in and up but we've got a booking at Creso Scout Camp for the King's Birthday Weekend. More details to follow.   Finally as we've hit winter it's always a good plan to have a head torch in your pocket. We're Scout's - wandering around with your mobile phone light on like you're lost at a concert but the music's good isn't a ...

End of term reminders

Hello to Scout families.     Last night was the last meeting for term 1.    Wishing everyone a safe and Happy Easter, it's been a very short but hectic term.   Reminders to all to please pay for Stradbroke Cup and yearly Scout fees if you haven't already.     Lots of compliments to all our Scouts (last night) as they put their phones aside for the night and didn't use them at all!    We have had a few scouts asking about replacement scarves for various reasons, please have your scout look around to find it.  We are deciding on the best way to do this, so stay tuned!      Next term we will most likely have a camp staying in tents to practice for camping as scout in preparation for Australian Jamboree. All are welcome even  if not go to AJ2025.    Information on Jamboree with registrations closing June 30  https://bit.ly/aj2025   We also have Scout hike ...

Term One Scout Planner, AJ2025 and Feb camp

Well hallo Units and their PAs,   I know you were just lamenting to all your friends how dull and boring your fridge looked without this term's handy-dandy term planner on it... Well fear no more, that dull shopping list with cat food and toilet roll but no maxi-pack of Magnums can now be easily obscured with all the cool-beans fun your good ole unit council and leaders have cooked up for you. Your planner is attached for your fridging pleasure.   But all this comes at a cost you know, no - not monetary, well not yet anyway, we need ACTION! Hard RSVPs that's the currency we want.   Dates are bearing down on us like a freight train of commitment screaming along the greased wheels of inevitably - oh old man time - give it a break why don't you....   First up - Bay Park Camp on the 23rd to the 25th . This is the camp to start all camps - the camp for you! What's that you say? You've just started linking and don't even know which end of a scout goes ...

Scout and about 2nd November

Hello Units!   I trust your blood glucose levels remain suitably under control after the sugar rush that is Halloween. If not, the following should fix it!   This Thursday, under the careful planning eye of our very own Emil we'll be out and about on a bike ride, somewhere (and if we're lucky Emil might even choose a route with ice-cream on the way, hint hint)   So what will I need I hear you ask enthusiastically! A bike that works (wheels pumped, brakes braking, saddle present, suspicious squeak absent) Lights for your bike (front and back preferably, a head torch at a minimum, a Davy lantern not at all). A helmet. Yes - a lid for your loaf, a bucket for your brain, a can for your cabbage.... No helmet no ride (unless you can demonstrate you've no brain to protect) .... A small backpack with a snack (almost typed snake there), a drink and a raincoat A yellow jersey, but only if you're feeling speedy speedy.   Whilst our main objecti...
