Scouts 24th August

If you're reading this now, put them phones down and get to bed!
 
Because tomorrow night we'll be heading out of the hall for a little light competitive creativity. That's right the semi regular 4th Kew Scout photography competition has come around again.
 
But wait I hear you ask, I don't have a camera that takes photos of anything other than duck faces! But wait I say  don't worry, all that snap catting practise might just pay off!
 
So we'll be meeting at the hall at 6:45...
 
Yes 6:45, so we've got time for more that one ISO12000 shot and to get the composition just right.
 
You'll need,
 
A Myki ( remember last time when the ticket inspectors got on the tram?!)
 
A phone/camera/hasselblad medium format super 50
 
A warm jacket
 
Perhaps some pocket money for tasty treats to feed your artistic muse.
 
We'll head to a suitably creative location filled with possibilities for your creative eye to capture the zeitgeist (don't worry the antibiotics will clear it up in no time)
 
After submission to the judges the winner/winners will be announced next week with prizes awarded! 
 
As we'll be out and about it would also be great if we could have a parent to join us wrangling the units to, erm, guide their creative urges... Please...

Scout night plan 31st July

Forwarding a message from our master of ceremonies/chaos Emil.    Nice planning Emil! It's got everything: dreams drama, a sense of foreboding, just what we expect...   For the TL;DNR please   We will meet at the IKEA entrance of Vic gardens at 7pm NOT at the hall.    Pick up will be from the HALL at 9pm (unless we all get lost in IKEA).   A good time will be had, we will not bring shame upon our unit.    Oh and please remember to Wear Your Uniform. End of term reminders

Hello to Scout families.     Last night was the last meeting for term 1.    Wishing everyone a safe and Happy Easter, it's been a very short but hectic term.   Reminders to all to please pay for Stradbroke Cup and yearly Scout fees if you haven't already.     Lots of compliments to all our Scouts (last night) as they put their phones aside for the night and didn't use them at all!    We have had a few scouts asking about replacement scarves for various reasons, please have your scout look around to find it.  We are deciding on the best way to do this, so stay tuned!      Next term we will most likely have a camp staying in tents to practice for camping as scout in preparation for Australian Jamboree.
